The Quiet One

Hello everyone, I was born in Iowa and raised in Nebraska, so I have a small town (less than 10,000 pop.) background.  I joined the US Army in 1972 as a Multi-Çhannel Çommunications Specialist and spent the next 20 years bouncing around the world.  A year after serving in Desert Storm•Shield, I retired from the Army in 1992.  I moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where I currently live.  I spent a few years attempting to get a college degree in Computer Science, but the math totally discouraged me, so I gave it up as a lost cause.  My hobbies are reading (Science Fiction & Fantasy mostly) and computers.  One of things I've done that I'm most proud of, was getting ShaNaNa (a friend of mine) hooked on computers (hehe!) a few years back.  It was ShaNaNa, in turn, who got me onto IRC and subsequently into #40+TennesseeFun.

Sadly, my brother Dennis (ShaNaNa on IRC) passed away on October 28, 2003.  He will be greatly missed by many. Mary Ann (Danger_ous) has kindly made a memorial page for him.  You can view it here.  Thank you very much, Mary Ann. Rest in Peace, Dennis.  I Love You...I Miss You.
